Product and Furniture Design resources in Special Collections

DMU Special Collections comprises the Archives and Rare Books collections. We are based in Kimberlin 00.21, on the lower ground floor near the Journals. We are usually open Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. Contact us at archives@dmu.ac.uk with any queries or see our LibGuide here

Special Collections holds various resources which may be of interest to Product and Furniture Design students. In Rare Books, the Art, Design and Architecture collection includes various relevant publications. In the Library catalogue narrow a search by Library Location 'Kimberlin Special Collections' to view Rare Books holdings.

The Archives holds material relating to design teaching at DMU and its predecessors, including photographs of student work and exhibitions. There are also a growing number of artefacts in the collection which can be studied, from 17th century armour to Olympics mascots, photograph industry ephemera and a toasting fork from 1917!
