General Information for Staff
This guide is intended as a quick reference tool to help new and existing staff become acquainted with, and make the most of, Library and Learning Services.
Your main contact within the Library is your Academic Liaison Librarian (ALL). They can help you to ensure that the Library holds the resources and offers the services you need in support of your teaching and research. ALLs attend departmental meetings and provide teaching and 1:1 support to students. Please speak to your ALL if you have any queries.

Supporting your Students
We provide a range of services and support to help your students develop their skills and make the most from the Library. These include our Subject Guides which offer tailored advice and relevant resources for students in a particular department.
Assignment Drop-Ins: Every week students can come along to the Library and Learning Services Assignment Drop-ins for help with referencing, finding information for assignments, academic writing and any other questions relating to assignments and study. During term-time they run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 2-3 pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6 pm in the Learning Development Zone. During vacation they only run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
For individual support and guidance, students can book a 1:1 appointment with their Subject Librarian to discuss their work.
We also offer a Just Ask and LibChat service.
