DMU Resource Lists for Staff (previous): Why DMU Resource Lists?

What is DMU Resource Lists?

Library and Learning Services (LLS) continues to implement DMU Resource Lists, which provides students with a central portal to access the supporting materials you need them to read, watch or listen to, while also streamlining stock purchasing.

Resource lists are easily created, modified and annotated so that they continually reflect current requirements, with academic staff bookmarking items rather than manually adding information.

A link to DMU Resource Lists is available from our online book store (provided by John Smith’s). Students are also able to purchase books and other learning materials from John Smith’s directly from their resource lists.

Requirements for module leaders

  • From the 2017/18 academic year, all undergraduate and taught postgraduate students should be able to access their module resource list through DMU Resource Lists and the link to the list be added to Blackboard. This has been added to the revised Blackboard Module Shell Policy here, it is also a requirement for a module to be UDL compliant.
  • Progress on the uptake of DMU Resource Lists will be reported to the UDL Project Board on a regular basis.

List creation and publishing process

  • Before a list is published and made available to students it is reviewed by the library.
  • Books may have to be ordered and articles and/or book chapters may have to be digitised so academic staff should request a review of their module resource list(s) at least 6 working weeks before the beginning of term.
  • Further changes to the list may be made after the list has been reviewed and published.
