A guide to using the library catalogue and finding books on the shelves using the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme.

Locations and sequences

A comprehensive list of all the Locations and Sequences you may see displayed on the library catalogue, and where to find them:

Locations

Kimberlin - Located in the main sequence of shelves of the Kimberlin Library.

Kimberlin Short Loan - Located in the main foyer of the Kimberlin Library.

Kimberlin Special Collections - Located in the Archives, lower ground floor of the Kimberlin Library.

Kimberlin Stack - Located in the rolling stacks of the Kimberlin Library. Ask a member of staff for more information.

Kimberlin Journals - Located on the lower ground floor of the Kimberlin Library, in the rolling stacks, arranged alphabetically by title.

Law Library - Located in the main sequence of shelves at the Law Library, Hugh Aston Building.

Law Short Loan - Located at the Law Library, Hugh Aston Building.

Law Library Journals - Located at the Law Library, Hugh Aston Building.

LPC Library - Located at the Law Library, Hugh Aston Building. Only accessible by students on the Legal Practice Course.

Electronic Resource - E-books, E-journals or E-Theses, accessed via the Internet.

REF - REFERENCE collection located on the first floor of the Kimberlin Library.

C - Rarely used material, located in the rolling stacks of the Kimberlin Library. Ask a member of staff fr more information.

Glass Cabinets - Valuable or explicit materials located in the rolling stacks of the Kimberlin Library. Ask a member of staff for more information.

Video - DVDs and videos located on the lower ground floor rolling stacks of the Kimberlin Library.

Media - CDs, slides located on the lower ground floor of the Kimberlin Library.
